Emma Raducanu shares main personal life goal amid Oxford University links

Emma Raducanu has revealed her main life goal after being linked to the University of Oxford.
The tennis player recently travelled to Washington for the WTA 500 but after opening wins versus Elise Mertens and Peyton Stearns, she lost to Paula Badosa in the quarter-finals.

This is the latest tournament in a busy summer for Raducanu which will next see her compete in the Cincinnati Open before going onto the US Open. The 21-year-old will hope to replicate her form from 2021 in the competition when she won the tournament as an outsider.

Raducanu has also been playing tennis in England this summer and competed at Wimbledon, being knocked out by Lulu Sun in the quarter-finals. She has now revealed that her number one life goal is to win Wimbledon in a new interview with Marie Claire whilst in America.

Raducanu said: “Long term, I want to win Wimbledon. That’s my number one goal. “But in the short term, I just want to keep staying healthy and improving my skills.

“Working on the actual development of them rather than any immediate results – that’s my priority right now.”

Raducanu had been spotted visiting Oxford prior to Wimbledon and some had wondered if attending the university would be high on the list of her life goals.

The Brit did rule out studying at the University of Oxford though and said: “I’m very much focused on my professional tennis career.
“Once that’s over maybe or once I have more disposition or more time, that’s for sure something I would love to explore.

“For now I’m very much focused on the tennis.”
