Lydia Ko makes shocking revelation about her Olympic medals, recalls the last time she saw them

Lydia Ko is making her third appearance at the Olympics. She previously played in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, which was won by Nelly Korda but Ko bagged the bronze medal by defeating India’s Aditi Ashok by one stroke and scoring 268 in total.

Lydia Ko debuted in 2016, winning a silver medal with 11-under 273. The prestigious gold medal was won by Inbee Park that year, while Shanshan Feng won the bronze. Now, as Lydia Ko makes her third appearance at the Olympics, she joined a press conference on Monday and mentioned where she had kept her medals.

“I haven’t seen the medals since I won both of the medals. But I’m pretty sure the Tokyo medal is somewhere in my sister’s apartment, and the Rio Silver is in my dad’s closet. So they are in very treasured places, just not with me…If I win the Gold, I’m definitely taking all of them back and I’m going to find a way to kind of present all three.” Ko said ( via ASAP Sports).

She continued:
“Yeah, but I don’t really have, like, a good place to store it right now…I think if I do win the Gold, I might actually have to maybe get a new home or get a proper thing to kind of, like, honour it. But it’s a long way from now but it’s definitely a good dream and something that I can think of.”

At the Olympics 2024, Lydia Ko will face tough competition from several popular players like Celine Boutier, Nelly Korda, Lilia Vu, Jin Young Ko, Rose Zhang and more. The Women’s Golf at the ongoing Games starts on August 7.
