“Daaamnnn girl” – Emma Raducanu gushes over Paula Badosa’s latest cover shoot for Spanish magazine La Vanguardia
Emma Raducanu praised her friend and rival Paula Badosa for her glamorous appearance in a Spanish magazine. Badosa, ranked 65th in the world, posted three pictures from her cover shoot for La Vanguardia, showing off her fashionable outfits and poses on the tennis court.
The two players have met only once on the ITF circuit, in the quarterfinals of the 2019 W25 Bolton tournament, where Raducanu beat Badosa in straight sets 6-1, 6-2. However, they have developed a friendship off the court, as they often comment on each other’s social media posts, complimenting each other’s outfits and looks.
Badosa’s latest photoshoot for La Vanguardia, a Spanish newspaper and magazine, was posted on her Instagram account on July 22. The photoshoot featured the Spaniard wearing different outfits from various brands, such as Dioriviera, Loewe, Levi’s, Lola Casademunt, Uniqlo, and Rabanne.
In the first picture, the former World No. 2 can be seen lying sideways on the tennis court wearing a Toile de Jouy print dress by Dioriviera. In the next picture, she can be seen posing on the net wearing a skirt and top in polypropylene from Loewe. In the last picture, she was wearing a Levi’s shirt, a Lola Casademunt knitted vest, Uniqlo jeans, and a Rabanne link chain.
Raducanu was quick to express her admiration for Badosa’s stunning shoot, commenting on her post:
“Daaamnnn girl.”
The two players did not get a chance to meet at Wimbledon this year, as they both lost in their respective Round of 16 clashes. Emma Raducanu, who was given a wildcard for the grass-court Slam, lost 2-6, 7-5, 2-6 against New Zealand’s Lulu Sun.
Paula Badosa also faced a tough challenge from Croatia’s Donna Vekic, who beat her 6-2, 1-6, 6-4. Vekic went on to reach the semifinal, where she lost to eventual runner-up Jasmine Paolini.
