“Brooke & Lexi Finish Strong, Earn $31K in Dow; Thitikul & Yin Win Big with $365K Each”
Brooke Henderson of Canada and her teammate Lexi Thompson of the U.S. scorched the Midland Country Club to the tune of seven-under 63 to finish T8 in the LPGA’s Dow Championship. The duo closed the team-format event at 16-under 264 to land in a tie with eight other tandems in the LPGA’s unique tournament. They banked $31,733 each.
The teams in T8 place ended up six strokes behind the champs – Atthaya Thitikul of Thailand and Ruoning Yin of China. The winning duo each banked $365,305. The champions posted superb rounds of 64, 66, 66 and 62 to total 258 and nip second-place occupants Ally Ewing and Jennifer Kupcho, both of the U.S., by one shot. The duo each banked $180,517. Meanwhile, the Canadian superstar and American legend made their seven birdies on holes 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 12 and 15.

Vanessa Borovilos of Etobicoke, ON, teamed up with Sophie Stevens of the U.S. They finished T29 and banked $7,912 each. Maude-Aimee LeBlanc of Sherbrooke, QC, played alongside Sandra Gal of Germany. They closed in solo 34th place and banked $6,529 each.
Canadians missing the cut were Savannah Grewal of Mississauga, ON, and her partner Malia Nam of the U.S. Alena Sharp of Hamilton and her sidekick Sarah Kemp of Australia also didn’t make it into weekend play.
