‘Can’t Make Somebody Love You’ – Ex-Husband Andy Mill’s Tragic Reaction After a Whopping $8 Million Divorce Settlement With Chris Evert in 2006

Chris Evert and Andy Mill married in 1988 in Boca Raton. Eighteen years later, the marriage, unfortunately, ended in divorce in 2006. Evert divorced Mill, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ and later married the former Australian golfer and Mill’s friend, Greg Norman. The former Alpine skier once detailed the horrid and painful experience of going through a divorce.

He wished that nobody had to go through such an ordeal. Eventually, the tables turned and Evert regretted divorcing Andy Mill.

For Andy Mill, divorce was the last thing he expected after 18 years of marriage with the tennis legend. It happened nonetheless and his best friend, Greg Norman, the retired golf player, had played his part in it. In an old interview, he termed the day he divorced Evert as “the worst day in my life.” But he accepted his ex-wife’s decision and said, “I wouldn’t wish divorce on anyone. But it happens and you can’t make somebody love you – in the case of my ex-wife.” Furthermore, he talked about the progress he made after that. Mill said, “You have to move on and so I’m moving on – it (recovering from the split) is a work in progress.”

 

 

The divorce left him with a hefty amount of $8.7 million and a $5 million worth of holiday home. However, this did not make up for the heartbreak that the Alpine skier had to go through.

Chris Evert married thrice. However, the only marriage she regretted breaking was with Andy Mill. She married Mill in 1988 and after meeting Australian golfer Greg Norman; she divorced her then-husband in 2006. Later, she married Norman in 2008. However, within a year the couple parted ways. In 2011, she revealed the reason for her third divorce. “I don’t want this to be a slam on Greg, but our lifestyles were different. My priority was my kids. His priority was to build his business and travel.”

Besides that, Evert and Mill now have a comfortable relationship with each other. Now, they live only 15 minutes apart from each other. When she was diagnosed with cancer, Mill was with Evert throughout her chemotherapy sessions.
