Who is Lydia Ko’s caddie?
She is one of the most successful female golfers of her generation – but who is Lydia Ko’s caddie?
Lydia Ko has long been one of the superstars in women’s golf. The New Zealander first reached No.1 in the world rankings back in 2015 and reclaimed top spot at the end of the 2022 season.
Ko has won 20 times on the LPGA Tour during her illustrious career, including two major championships – the Evian Championship and Chevron Championship. But who is Lydia Ko’s caddie? Here’s everything you need to know on the star’s looper.
Lydia Ko’s caddie
Lydia Ko made a surprise announcement at the start of 2023 that she had split with her caddie Derek Kistler. Kistler began caddying instead for PGA Tour players like Cameron Champ and Lanto Griffin after the split. Ko then briefly worked with David Jones, who had caddied for her in the past. The duo won the Aramco Saudi Ladies International together before Ko decided to make another change.
Lydia Ko’s new caddie is veteran Scotsman Paul Cormack. Cormack started carrying the bag for Ko towards the end of the 2023 season and also started the 2024 season working with the Kiwi.
After working as a barman and postman, Cormack pursued a career as a professional golfer before settling as a caddie. He notably worked with Sweden’s Anna Nordqvist for four years and carried the bag of the Solheim Cup star when she won the AIG Women’s Open at Carnoustie in 2021.
Cormack split from Nordqvist in 2023 and caddied on the PGA Tour for Kevin Chappell, but later returned to the LPGA Tour and started carrying Ko’s bag. Lydia Ko and Paul Cormack enjoyed their first victory together at the inaugural Grant Thornton Invitational in Florida, where Ko combined in a winning team with Jason Day in the mixed event.
