Tiger Woods completes opening round at Masters with a 73, eight shots off the lead

Tiger Woods clawed his way back after a bogey on the final hole to finish the weather-delayed opening round at the Masters with a 1-over-par 73. While a solid performance, it leaves him eight shots behind current leader Bryson DeChambeau, who carded an impressive 65 on Thursday.

Woods battled throughout the round, showcasing both resilience and moments of frustration. He chipped past the flag on 18 but missed the par putt, dropping another stroke. However, his fighting spirit was evident as he bounced back from early stumbles with three consecutive pars before the final hole hiccup.

Despite the deficit, Woods remains a contender. The Masters is known for its dramatic shifts, and his experience on Augusta National’s unforgiving terrain is invaluable. With three more rounds to play, there’s plenty of time for the golfing legend to climb the leaderboard.
