Watch: Spectacular eagle propels Kiwi Ko up leaderboard at Blue Bay LPGA
Lydia Ko has stunned the gallery on the second hole at the Blue Bay LPGA with a hole out eagle from the edge of the fairway.
Ko’s second shot on the par four second, cleared a bunker in front of the green and bounced and then rolled toward the pin before dropping into the cup at the Jian Lake Blue Bay Golf Club in China on Friday. The incredible shot put Ko on the charge in her second round and she backed it up with a birdie on the par five third to be seven under after a four under 68 in her opening round the previous day.
However, that early second round momentum was stifled when Ko recorded a bogey on the par four fifth. A second birdie for the round on the par five eighth has moved Ko back to seven under through eight holes on the front nine and she is currently in a four way tie for second behind outright leader Hye-Jin Choi who holds a one shot lead at eight under.
