2-time major champion Brooke Henderson shows off national colours while supporting junior national hockey team

Brooke Henderson shared a stories post on her Instagram account on December 24, 2024, as she was spotted in a Canadian hockey jersey. The 27-year-old LPGA Tour pro golfer hails from Canada.Henderson wore her national team colors as she went to support Canada for the team’s World Junior Championship pre-competition contest against Czechia at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa. She shared Hockey Canada’s post, captioned:

 

 

“We have a Canadian golf icon in the house tonight! Welcome, Brooke!”
Henderson was born in Ontario, Canada, where she grew up playing hockey. She won the Canadian Women’s Amateur golf tournament back in 2013. She also represented her nation in the Espirito Santo Trophy of 2012 and 2014. She turned professional in 2014 and started playing in the pro golf tournaments.

 

 

She won the Canadian Press Female Athlete of the Year award thrice, in 2015, 2017, and 2018. As compared to other Canadian golfers in the professional arena, Henderson still has the most number of wins in her bag.
In September 2024, the Ottawa Senators announced a multi-year deal with the LPGA star. The golfer’s bottles and towels feature the NHL team’s logo. While expressing her feelings about this partnership, Brooke Henderson said:

“I’m super excited to team up and partner with the Senators. It’s such a cool opportunity. You know, growing up, I played hockey, I loved hockey, and I always cheered for the Sens. So it feels like a perfect fit. I’m very proud to do it and show everybody who I’m cheering for and where my love is.”

Brooke Henderson participated in the 2024 Paris Olympics women’s golf competition. At Le Golf National, she tied for 13th place on the leaderboard with an overall 74-73-67-71, finishing with a score of 3-under par.

She concluded her 2024 LPGA Tour season at the CME Group Tour Championship. At the Tiburón Golf Club, she tied for 13th place, finishing with an impressive 13-under par. On her Instagram, the 27-year-old posted this update for her fans, where she wrote:

“Fun to close out the 2024 @lpga_tour season with a tied 8th finish @cmegrouptourchamp !”

Henderson missed the cut twice this year, at the AIG Women’s Open and in the U.S. Women’s Open pres. by Ally. She recorded nine top 10s and three top three finishes in 2024.

Henderson also took part in the Grant Thornton Invitational 2024. She was grouped up with fellow PGA pro Corey Conners. Henderson and Conners finished in fourth place with a score of 24-under par.
