Riley Keough Reveals Where She Stands With Grandmother Priscilla Presley Following Legal Battle

Riley Keough is opening up about the current status of her relationship with grandmother Priscilla Presley. After going through a legal dispute with her grandmother over her mom, Lisa Marie Presley’s trust, Riley has finally revealed where she now stands with Priscilla, over a year after reaching a settlement.

Riley, the oldest grandchild of Elvis Presley, made an appearance on the iHeart Radio podcast Dear Chelsea with Chelsea Handler this week, where she admitted that she and her grandmother are still “close” despite the legal woes in their past. “We’re close. We are, she’s wonderful,” Riley, 35, told Handler during the Wednesday, Dec. 4 episode of her podcast. “I mean, we’ve been close my whole life, and I think that I’ve been doing a lot of press who’ve asked about our relationship because obviously there was a lot of news when my mom passed.”

Following Lisa Marie’s death in January 2023, Priscilla, 79, filed a petition to challenge the validity of a 2016 amendment to her daughter’s will, which removed Priscilla as a co-trustee and instead left the estate in the hands of Riley and her brother Benjamin Keough, who passed away in 2020.

After settling, Priscilla was awarded an undisclosed sum of Lisa Marie’s trust—which included Elvis’ beloved Graceland property in Memphis, as well as a stake in Elvis Presley Enterprises. However, according to Riley, things with her grandmother have always been solid, for the most part.

“Ultimately, to this day, we have never really had an argument and we’re fairly close, you know?” she explained. “We’re a pretty average family other than the random lawsuit and oddity here and there.” The Daisy Jones & the Six actress is also known to have had a close relationship with her mom, who was Elvis’ only child. Recently, Riley even took on the responsibility of finishing her mother’s memoir, which Lisa Marie was writing when she died.

The memoir features Lisa Marie’s personal account of her life as Elvis’ daughter, as well as input about the famous family provided by Riley.
