Steven Spielberg chooses his best film: Leaves out ‘E.T.,’ ‘Saving Private Ryan’ and ‘Jurassic Park’
The movie was released three decades ago. Iconic filmmaker Steven Spielberg, known for cinematic masterpieces like ‘E.T.’, ‘Jaws’, ‘Saving Private Ryan’, and ‘Jurassic Park’, recently surprised fans and critics alike by revealing his pick for his best film.
Despite his illustrious career spanning over four decades and boasting numerous iconic works, Spielberg singled out ‘Schindler’s List’ as his crowning achievement. Released 30 years ago in 1994, ‘Schindler’s List’ received widespread acclaim and garnered 12 Oscar nominations, winning seven, including Best Picture and Best Director.
The film, which tells the true story of Oskar Schindler’s heroic efforts to save Jews during the Holocaust, remains a poignant and powerful piece of cinema. Reflecting on his magnum opus, Spielberg expressed immense pride in ‘Schindler’s List’. “It’s the best movie I’ve ever made,” Spielberg told The Hollywood Reporter.

Praised ‘The Zone of Interest’
Furthermore, Spielberg commended recent Holocaust-themed films such as ‘The Zone of Interest’, nominated for the 2024 Oscars, stating that it’s the “best Holocaust movie I’ve witnessed since my own.”
