Chris Evert holds the record for having the highest win percentage of any player in singles matches played on hard courts on the WTA Tour. Steffi Graf, Martina Navratilova and Serena Williams are some of the other tennis legends who have the best records on the surface.

Here, we look at the seven women in the history of the WTA Tour who have win percentages of over 80% on hard courts (with a minimum of 200 matches won).

7. Justine Henin – 81.98%
Justine Henin won 273 of the 333 (81.98%) hard-court matches she contested, making it her third-best surface by win percentage behind clay and grass. The Belgian secured 25 of her 43 WTA titles on hard courts, while she won three Grand Slams on the surface (two US Opens and one Australian Open).

6. Kim Clijsters – 82.69%
Kim Clijsters holds a 325-68 (82.69%) record in matches on hard courts, making it her best surface by measure of win percentage. The Belgian collected 31 of her 41 singles titles at hard-court events, including three majors, which were all at the US Open).

5. Monica Seles – 83.82%
Monica Seles compiled a 311-60 (83.82%) record in hard-court matches, which makes it her second most successful surface in terms of win rate after clay courts. The Yugoslavian-American won 28 of her 53 WTA singles titles on hard courts and claimed six Grand Slams on the surface (four Australian Opens and two US Opens).

4. Serena Williams – 85.33%
Williams won 535 of the 627 matches she contested on hard courts, making it her second-best surface after grass when it comes to win percentage. The American claimed 47 of her 73 singles titles at hard-court tournaments, including 13 majors (seven Australian Opens and six US Opens).

3. Martina Navratilova – 87%
Navratilova amassed a 375-56 (87%) record in hard-court matches, which makes it her second most successful surface by win rate after carpet courts.
The Czech-American secured 29 of her record 167 WTA singles titles on hard courts and won four Grand Slams on the surface — all at the US Open.

2. Steffi Graf – 89.65%
Graf holds a 338-39 (89.65%) record in matches on hard courts, making it her second-best surface by win percentage behind carpet courts. The German won more of her 107 WTA titles on hard courts (37) than any other surface and claimed nine majors on hard courts (five US Opens and four Australian Opens).

1. Chris Evert – 91.57%
Evert is the player with the highest win percentage on hard courts in WTA history, having compiled a 478-44 (91.57%) record from her 522 matches on the surface. Hard-court is Evert’s second-best surface in terms of win rate after clay. The American won 35 of her 157 WTA singles titles on hard courts, including three Grand Slams — the US Open in 1978, 1980 and 1982.
