Women’s Olympics Golf: Ex-LPGA Pro’s F-Bomb Blunder on Brooke Henderson Leaves Fans Tongue-Tied

There seems to be no end to f-bombs at Le Golf National. Rory McIlroy delivered something similar while teeing off at the Paris Olympics, and now it’s happening with women’s golf as well. Surprisingly, this time it’s not a pro who delivered such words but a commentator from the NBC team instead.

Yes, you read that right. Recently, @NUCLRGOLF shared a video on X captioning, “She’s f—kin fired up; you love to see it!” It was Morgan Pressel, a former pro and current NBC commentator at the Paris Olympics, who dropped this unexpected F-bomb on the big stage like the Olympics. Henderson was off to a decent start and carded six bogeys, one double bogey with four birdies and one eagle in the first round.

Moving to the second round the golfer shot three birdies and finished with a 73 with 1-under-par. Witnessing this Pressel was pretty excited to talk about Brooke Henderson and got caught up in the moment. The Canadian golfer in the clip also looked fired up and confident as she fist-bumped her caddie. This blunder, or more like a mishap at the hands of Pressel, did not go unnoticed by the fans.

Henderson is representing Canada alongside Alena Sharp and they seem to have a good relationship. Talking about it she said “Alena has always been a great mentor to me so it’s really special to compete in three Olympic Games together and represent Team Canada because we are both very proud to be from Canada,” a revealed on National Post. The 26-year-old also expressed her excitement to play third-time at the Olympics and said “It’s very exciting to have the opportunity to play such a beautiful golf course.”

The excitement explains her reason in the clip. Not long after it went viral the golf world was in a frenzy expressing various reactions towards Morgan’s commentary. Surprisingly, some fans are excited, while others are surprised.

Fans are not sure what they are hearing
The audio in the clip wasn’t entirely clear, leading one fan to express surprise by commenting, “Was that Morgan dropping the F-bomb?” The fan seemed shocked, likely because Morgan hadn’t been known to say something like this before, especially at a stage like the Olympics. Expressing a similar shocking reaction another added “I had to go back and hear that again, she did say F—-ng fired up. Yeah, Golf Channel going blue!” Mostly, the golf commentators such as Brandel Chamblee refrain from this kind of language. Chamblee is known for his harsh remarks, but definitely not for dropping the F-bombs. Hence, fans were shocked. Regardless of that National TV networks like NBC usually censor such language, but that didn’t happen here.

One fan was excited and commented “Yeah and we love to see that style of commentating!” Commentators like Pressel usually focus on the action they’re watching, while the likes of Brandel Chamblee consider statistics as the center point and fans have often mentioned how they like to mute when he is doing the commentary. And this fan seems to enjoy the commentary from the former pro who got emotionally involved while watching Brooke Henderson’s second round.

One fan commented, “Morgan Pressel got caught up in the moment.” It’s not just commentators who get caught up in the excitement or frustration—golfers do too. Something similar happened with Shane Lowry at the Open Championship when the pro got caught up in the heat of competition and delivered a “F—k” bomb. Meanwhile, some fans had trouble clearly hearing the words from the video and commented, “I heard that! Fired up! lol” and “Pumped and fired up” Maybe…?”
