When Will the Next Official LPGA Tour Event Be After the Holidays? All You Need to Know About 2025 Schedule

The 2024 season of the LPGA Tour saw some brilliant performances from many stars of the league. There is no doubt that Nelly Korda stole the show thanks to her 7 victories in the year. At one point, she had won 5 tournaments in a row which ended with a major at The Chevron Championship in April 2024.

Other standout performers of the year include Lydia Ko, Atthaya Thitikul, & Ayaka Furue. Lydia Ko bagged 3 victories in the season, including the AIG Women’s Open back in August, where she outplayed Lilia Vu, Nelly Korda, Ruoning Yin, & Jiyai Shin by 2 strokes to secure the title. Ko had also captured the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions & the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G titles this year.

Atthaya Thitikul was another LPGA Tour pro who had an incredible season. Compared to Lydia Ko & Nelly Korda, Thitikul only managed 2 victories in 2024. However, those two victories were enough to ensure that she finished the year as the highest-earning player. The player from Thailand bagged the CME Group Tour Championship in November 2024 to secure $4 million and end the LPGA Tour season on a high.

Lastly, Ayaka Furue was the star at The Amundi Evian Championship. The 24-year-0ld scored 19-under par 281 to secure the major win. Apart from that, she also had 12 top-10 finishes, which included 6 in the top 4 in 2024.

Every one of these women was in the spotlight throughout the season as they displayed their impeccable strokeplay in 2024. So when will they and the other top LPGA Tour stars be in action again? Well, as shared by the LPGA Tour on their official Instagram account, the season is set to kick off with the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions 2025 at the Lake Nona Golf & Country Club on January 30, 2025.

This is going to be one of the biggest LPGA Tours of the season, with a $131 million overall purse spread across 35 events. This will be the highest purse of a season in the 75-year history of the LPGA Tour.

Having said that, which LPGA Tour star might feature in the season-opening event? Let’s find out.

Possible participants in LPGA Tour season 2025 opening event
The Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions 2025 has seen some great performances in the last few years. In 2024, Lydia Ko dominated the field and secured a win with a 2-stroke margin. There is no doubt that she will be coming back to retain the title in 2025. She will face tough competition from the likes of Nelly Korda & Charley Hull. Korda has come really close at capturing the title in the last few versions of the tournament.

Moreover, world no. 1’s sister, Jessica Korda, has previously won the tournament in 2021. Considering Nelly Korda’s competitive nature and sibling rivalry, there is no doubt that she will be yearning for the title of Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions.

When it comes to Charley Hull, she has been on the hunt to win an LPGA Tour event for the past few months. Hull has been trophyless in the American League for more than 2 years. Her last victory came at the 2022 Ascendant LPGA benefiting Volunteers of America. Moreover, she broke her losing streak on the LET Tour with the Aramco Team Series Riyadh. So Charley Hull will definitely be participating in the season-open at the end of January 2025.
