Jannik Sinner wins second consecutive ATP Fans’ Favourite award

Jannik Sinner is the ATP Fans’ Favourite award winner for the second straight year. World no. 1 made history by becoming the third back-to-back owner of this honor and joining Marat Safin and Roger Federer on the exclusive list.

The Swiss Maestro owns this award, taking it for 19 consecutive years between 2003 and 2021. Rafael Nadal claimed it in 2022, and Jannik Sinner clinched it in the previous two seasons.

Jannik Sinner’s 2024 brilliance
Jannik raised his level in the second part of 2023, working hard and improving already solid elements of his game. The 22-year-old wrapped up the year in the top-4 and earned the Davis Cup crown for Italy. Also, Jannik notched two victories over Novak Djokovic within ten days.

He gathered a boost and left everyone behind in 2024! Sinner embraced a 73-6 score this year, lifting eight ATP trophies and helping his country defend the Davis Cup trophy. Jannik established himself as the finest hard-courter, winning seven titles on his favorite surfaces.

 

 

He also collected six notable ATP titles and two ATP 500 crowns, leaving everyone behind and starting his reign on the ATP throne after Roland Garros. Sinner is spending his 27th week as world no. 1 and will pass his great rival, Carlos Alcaraz, in February.

The Italian entered the Australian Open with a boost and proved that on the court. He dethroned Novak Djokovic in the semi-final, facing no break points against the legend and sealing the deal in four sets. Jannik faced Daniil Medvedev in the title clash.

The younger player dropped the opening two sets and stood on the verge of the exit door. Keeping his composure, Sinner shifted into a higher gear and turned the tables. He emerged at the top in five sets, celebrating his first Major crown at 22.

The Italian returned to Europe and lifted another trophy at the ATP 500 event in Rotterdam. He defeated Alex de Minaur in the title clash and generated 1500 ATP points ahead of the North American swing. Jannik suffered his first loss of the season to Carlos Alcaraz in Indian Wells.

Sinner fixed that in Miami, barely losing a couple of games since the quarter-final stage and lifting his second Masters 1000 crown. Jannik withdrew from the Madrid Masters ahead of the quarter-final, dealing with a hip injury and missing the home Rome Masters.

Sinner recovered ahead of Roland Garros and reached the semi-final. The Italian led two sets to one against Carlos Alcaraz before falling in five sets. Jannik earned enough points and became the 29th ATP world no. 1 in June.

He played his first tournament as world no. 1 in Halle and won the title, his only of the season outside hard. The Italian reached the Wimbledon quarter-final and fell to Daniil Medvedev. World no. 1 struggled physically and gave everything in a five-setter defeat.

He missed the Olympic Games and returned to action in Canada. Jannik lost to Andrey Rublev and gave the title away. However, he fixed that in Cincinnati, lifting his second Masters 1000 trophy of the season. Sinner was the favorite at the US Open.
