Emma Raducanu Touted to Alter Tennis Fate in Astounding Australian Open Prediction from British Tennis Legend
Things haven’t been sailing as smoothly as one would expect for Emma Raducanu. The Briton returned to the tour after enduring a plethora of injuries that canceled her chances of concluding her title drought. However, her resilience is nothing short of commendable. With the latest changes to her team, the former British pro-Greg Rusedski is backing Raducanu to bounce back in 2025.
Raducanu reached the last eight at several top-tier WTA events this year and when she was finally getting closer to her first title in three years in Korea, an unfortunate incident derailed her plans. She was forced to concede her quarterfinal contest mid-match against Daria Kasatkina due to an injury in the left foot. A sad ending to her 2024 touring campaign, indeed, but the Brit is far from letting her foot off the gas.
At 22, Raducanu already has one Grand Slam title added to her resume. Hungry to furnish herself with more silverware, rivals can best believe that she won’t rest easy until triumphant results at the Australian Open don’t come her way. Ahead of the Melbourne rubber, countryman Greg Rusedski expressed that the World No. 10 has a good chance at winning not just the season-opening Slam, but, multiple Majors.
During an interview with the ‘SportKlub,’ Rusedski highlighted that he “would never limit her potential. I sincerely believe that he will win a few more Grand Slams. It may be an exaggeration to say that he can win the next Australian Open, but it is not impossible. It is more realistic to reach the quarter-finals.” And Raducanu has already enforced significant chances to increase her chances of winning.
The young Briton hired a renowned fitness coach who has previously worked with Naomi Osaka and Maria Sharapova. She aired the announcement for fans with excitement and optimism.
Emma Raducanu believes she can be the ‘best athlete’ in tennis
British sensation Emma Raducanu is eying to fulfill her potential as she hired Yutaka Nakamura, an esteemed strength and conditioning coach on a full-time basis before the commencement of the 2025 season. It’s a significant step for the 2021 US Open champion who has struggled with bouts of physical restraints. Considering how Nakamura has worked with Naomi Osaka and Maria Sharapova in the past, Raducanu is quite optimistic.
She told reporters: “I think he is going to help me just really explore how far I can go athletically. It’s a big strength of mine that I have nowhere near fulfilled. I think I can become one of the best athletes out there in tennis and I’m just looking forward to seeing how much I can do. And I think he’s going to help with that. The way I’m working with him and Nick [Cavaday, her coach], it’s a lot more integrated.”
With the 2025 season around the corner, the Brit will soon start her preparations for the Australian hardcourt swing. Raducanu will mark her appearance in Auckland and Adelaide before jetting for the ultimate showdown in Melbourne. Do you think she will make a mark in the Australian Open?
