‘She’s a Non-entity in My Life’ – Legendary Golfer Greg Norman’s Ex-wife Bluntly Refused to Even Acknowledge Chris Evert’s Existence Back in 2009
Chris Evert has put all the effort into being a legendary tennis player. She has won eighteen grand slam titles and has been at rank 1 for over 260 weeks. However, Evert’s personal life wasn’t as stable as her tennis career. She has been married and divorced thrice. Her marriage to golfer Greg Norman had become somewhat of a controversy. Norman’s ex-wife, Laura Andrassy, had launched some comments on Evert at the time that could come off as hostile.
Chris Evert and Greg Norman married in 2008. Unfortunately, the marriage didn’t last long as two divorced after 15 months. As per Evert, she kept her kids as her priority while Norman prioritized his business and travel.
Laura Andrassy once bashed Chris Evert for breaking her marriage
In 2009, Greg Norman’s private life had been less than private. After his divorce from first wife and then marriage to Chris Evert, Norman was going through all sorts of drama. In an interview, Andrassy launched an attack on the couple.
She said, “I’ve never ever encountered a woman like that before. I don’t have respect for her as a woman. She’s a non-entity in my life.”
Greg Norman and the American tennis legend were surprised by the harsh words used by Andrassy. Evert wanted to rationalize her thoughts. She said that she thought that Andrassy’s words were first coming from a place of pain. But she was later disheartened to learn that the former flight attendant just wanted to attack the couple.
“You know, I think her accusations come from a place of pain, and I’m shocked, astounded that, you know, that wasn’t the scenario at all.”
When Andrassy talked about Evert’s divorce
2009 saw Chris Evert’s third marriage ending in a divorce. The two were unable to work out their differences and eventually split 15 months after their marriage. Andrassy was not shy about commenting on their divorce either. To her, it came as no surprise. It was a matter of ‘when’ rather than ‘if’ for Andrassy.
Andrassy even talked to Evert’s ex-husband, Andy Mill, about it and said that it’s like they were in a bad movie with Evert and Norman. Now, Evert spends her time with her children. She is not involved with anyone.
