Emma Raducanu spotted driving new £100k Porsche as she destroys ‘taken away’ claims

Tennis ace Emma Raducanu defended herself against online trolls earlier this month after reports she'd been dropped by Porsche, the luxury car-maker

Defiant Emma Raducanu was back behind a £100k Porsche on Monday – after taking down social media trolls. The British tennis ace, 22, was US Open winner in 2021 but has had a difficult time on the court since, with injuries stalling her progress. That had seen claims earlier this month that her big-money endorsement deal with the brand was ‘heading for the scrapyard’.

Porsche are known to be ruthless when it comes to whipping their motors away from ambassadors and after an article claimed Raducanu was next, she was targeted and mocked on social media. And it didn’t help the rumours when she was recently spotted driving a £5000 Dacia Sandero – her reliable long-time motor.

But Raducanu bit back, posting a picture of herself sat inside a Porsche next to a second image which read: ‘Like I vanished and reappeared.’ And Porsche even went so far as to issue their own public statement, backing the young Brit.

“Emma Raducanu is a global brand ambassador for Porsche and there have not been any changes within our successful partnership since it started in 2022. We are very happy with our partnership.”

That didn’t completely satisfy everyone mind.

More questions asked when the injury-hit star was spotted queuing for a London bus on Monday morning. But it seems that she was merely having a change of motor as she was back behind the wheel of a Porsche on Monday afternoon – having gone to pick it up!

This time it wasn’t the £125,000 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet which she’s posed with previously, but instead a high-powered Porsche Cayenne.

The change of car to a more ultra-comfortable model could, potentially, help her in her quest to finally get rid of the injuries that have plagued her young career.

Emma, who is currently injured, fell in love with Porsche as a child – because one of her first tennis coaches.
“Whenever I would turn up to practice in the morning I would see his Porsche,’ she said. “I would go, ‘Wow!’ and be dreaming of one day sitting in my own.”
