Watch: Emma Raducanu posts update amid injury, reveals to what she has been up to
Emma Raducanu shared a positive update in her Instagram post as the British tennis star appears to be back on the practice court after suffering an injury that has sidelined her for more than a month.
On Tuesday, a report came out revealing that the former world No. 10 pulled out of next week’s WTA 250 tournament in Hong Kong due to her ongoing foot injury. The following day, Raducanu herself confirmed it was true but also noted that her recovery from a ligament issue was going well and that she should be ready to play at the Billie Jean King Cup FInals between November 13-20.
“Hellooo, I’m sorry to say that I will not be able to play in Hong Kong next week. Whilst my foot is making good progress, I need a little more time before I am match fit. I hope to be able to come back and play this tournament in the future! In the meantime, I am doing what I can to be ready for BJKC,” the 21-year-old wrote on X earlier this week.
Raducanu’s latest update
On Instagram, the 21-year-old posted a reel that starts by showing her doing some work on the practice court. Also, the Briton can be seen doing some work in the gym.
However, stuff in it wasn’t only tennis-related as there are several parts when Raducanu can also be seen enjoying some nice off-court time with her friends.
In mid-October, the 2021 US Open champion kicked off her Asian swing by taking part at the WTA 500 tournament in Seoul. There, she successfully made it past her opening two matches but then that unfortunate foot injury happened and she retired in the quarterfinal.
Now, the hope is that Raducanu won’t experience any setbacks in the next two weeks and that she won’t be prevented from representing Great Britain in Malaga.
