Emma Raducanu sends furious warning shot to naysayers
Emma Raducanu has sent a furious message of defiance to her naysayers after several tournament losses.
The 21-year-old has had a topsy-turvy year having been knocked out of Wimbledon in the fourth round to Lulu Sun before then declining to play at the Olympics in Paris. Her main focus was the US Open with her aim to replicate her 2021 success and win the trophy but an opening match defeat saw her exit the tournament in tears.
She has also taken part in smaller opens throughout summer and autumn but is yet to win anything, being hampered by injuries throughout that period too.
Raducanu has now sent out a warning shot ahead of next year with the young tennis player’s eyes firmly fixed on glory once more.
Speaking to Women’s Health, she said: “Having been through such big changes, wellness to me now is the inner stillness I feel. “For me, that might mean doing hot yoga, reading, learning, studying – anything to cultivate my mind. “I take confidence from doing things that really enrich my mind and body and how peaceful I feel.
“Has this influenced my approach to tennis? Yeah, I’m prepared to work hard and do some damage next year.” She most recently lost to Daria Kasatkina in the Korea Open quarter-final back in September.
