Emma Raducanu receives very special gift after having £125k Porsche ‘taken away’

The Brit is reaping the benefits of tennis fame even while sidelined through injury.

Emma Raducanu has seemingly been gifted a brand new car following reports that her beloved Porsche was taken away by the German manufacturer. Raducanu became a global brand ambassador for Porsche following her incredible US Open triumph in 2021, and she was spotted soon afterwards driving around in a glitzy 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet worth £125,000.

Three years on, and having slipped down the world rankings, The Daily Mail claim that Raducanu is no longer in possession of her prized set of wheels. And she was recently seen bombing about in her second-hand Dacia Sandero, which she bought for just £5,000 shortly after passing her test.

Romanian car makers Dacia have since offered Raducanu a brand new model, posting a picture of a gift-wrapped 24-plate Sandero sat outside the grounds of Wimbledon on their official X account.

The caption reads: “Dear @EmmaRaducanu, whether it’s your forehand, backhand, or Sandero keys in-hand — you know a thing or two about reliability. So while some brands may (double) fault and let you down, you can always trust your Sandero. Here’s to many more miles.”

During her rise to stardom in 2021, Raducanu gave Dacia a handy boost by waxing lyrical about her second-hand motor. “My dad is Romanian and a Dacia was his first car,” she told The Sun.

“So, yeah, I have a white Dacia Sandero. It was funny, I passed my test three days before the first lockdown and we sort of knew it was going into lockdown, so we needed to buy a car ASAP. I bought it second-hand for £5,000. I take care of her. I’m never going to get rid of it.”

Porsche reportedly loan Raducanu cars on an ‘ad hoc basis’, and she suggested she was back behind the wheel of another expensive machine this week, posting a picture of herself to Instagram with ‘GTS’ visible on the headrests behind her.
