Does Lydia Ko’s Billionaire Husband Plays Golf? Hall of Famer’s Partner’s Interests Explored

Lydia Ko seems to have a perfect partner who always stands by her and supports her unconditionally. The golfer entered the Hall of Fame after she claimed gold at the Paris Olympics. She is also the only golfer to earn Olympic medals of all colors. This goes to show her fondness for the sport. But what about her billionaire husband, Jun Chung? Does he play golf? He surely enjoys it.

The golfer talked about her husband last month during the AIG Women’s Open in the press conference. Although he was there to support his wife, he also played some golf at Dumbarnie Links. Before that, he had played some at Kingsbarns while it was raining. “He’s going to go play at Dumbarnie Links this afternoon because 18 holes of spectating is not enough. And he played Kingsbarns on Monday in the rain. I’m glad that he’s actually getting to experience this,” she said.

He also made a birdie, and Lydia Ko was excited while talking about it and said, “He made a birdie at Kingsbarns, so we’re hoping for more of that today. But he loves things and he hit the tour at the R&A museum yesterday and he was super excited about it.” Lydia Ko hasn’t revealed how often Jun Chung plays golf, but it’s confirmed that he occasionally participates in the sport and enjoys it.

Jun Chung is the son of the vice chairman and CEO of the prominent Hyundai Card. Although he holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, he is currently the company’s financial manager. As per reports from Forbes, the Chung family has a net worth of a whopping $14.8 billion. They were even named Asia’s richest family in 2017. He deeply cares about Lydia Ko and her career, going so far as to sacrifice sleep to support her.

Lydia Ko is “very thankful” for her husband
The golfer was vying for the major title at St. Andrews last month, and it was certainly one of the most important tournaments for her. As she prioritized that, Chung also did the same. It happened ahead of the first round where Lydia Ko had to wake up at 4 am, and certainly, there wasn’t any need for Jun Chung to wake up with her, but he did. Later after the round, the golfer talked about it, “I feel bad because he’s having to wake up at 4:00 a.m. with me this morning.”

Even though she is equally supportive of her husband, it was surprising for her and she probably wouldn’t have done the same. “Even if I am the most supportive wife when it comes to his work, I’m probably never going to wake up at 4:00 a.m. for him for his job. I’m very thankful that he’s taking a step back and doing things on my time, and I know that’s not easy, so I’m glad that he’s actually getting to enjoy it,” she added. Not only sacrifices but Chung also pushes her wife to become a better person and player.

Overall, Jun Chung seems like an ideal partner, and their love for each other isn’t restricted by anything. What do you think about Lydia Ko’s husband? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below!
