Steve Stricker enjoys the support he gets at Sanford International
Sunday was 3rd straight and 4th win in 6 tournaments in Sioux Falls
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -Steve Stricker loves playing golf in Sioux Falls. As evidenced by how well he always plays at Minnehaha Country Club.
The 7th Sanford International turned out to be the best with plenty of drama.
Richard Green birdied 18 to force a playoff that went 4 holes before 2-time defending champ Steve Stricker just about holed out his 2nd shot from the rough on 18, hitting the flagstick and settling just a couple of feet away.
He made the putt for the win, his 3rd straight and 4th overall in Sioux Falls where he almost feels like it’s a second home with how much support he gets from the fans.
Steve Stricker says, “Yes I get that feeling around here every time I go around here. I get a lot of support here. I get a lot of well wishers, people I’ve seen over the years who continue to cheer me on. Little kids and older people and yes it’s a cool spot for me.”
And it’s cool for the fans as well. He loves the course. Steve had not won in a full year before yesterday at Minnehaha Country Club where he asked how many times does he need to win before he becomes a member?
