Jordan Spieth May Be on the Verge of a Brutal Tiger Woods Reality Despite Reaffirming Injury Updates
“I’ve got to have it operated on ASAP,” said a concerned Jordan Spieth after the first FedEx Cup playoff in Memphis. The athlete had unfortunately been suffering from an injury on his wrist for a while now, which even forced him to consider withdrawing from certain events (remember the 2024 RBC Heritage?).
And now, surprisingly, the golfer recently divulged how he has gone ahead with the procedure. However, the possibility of a Tiger Woods reality looms over the 31-year-old now that he has done so. “I had a procedure on my left wrist last week,” shared Spieth on his social media handles, “The operation went smoothly and I’m grateful for the exceptional medical team and support of Annie and my family.”
Adding on, the PGA Tour Pro disclosed his plans for the future as he wrote, “Focused on rest and rehab, and I look forward to returning to golf healthy and prepared for 2025!”

When it comes to Tiger Woods, the golfer hasn’t had much luck with the clubs following his accident in 2021 and the subsequent surgeries, especially the one in 2023. Back then, the athlete had withdrawn from the Masters Tournament before announcing that he would be undergoing a subtalar fusion procedure. “I am disappointed to have to WD this morning due to reaggravating my plantar fasciitis,” wrote the pro following which he shared another tweet 10 days later about his surgery.
Months later, although Woods would make a comeback into the game, he wouldn’t be able to leave a mark in any of the events. Out of the six events he tees off, the 15-time major champ finished T18 in the Hero World Challenge, T60 in the Masters, and WD from the Genesis Invitational while missing the cut in the rest of the contests.
Coming back to the 3-time major champ, Jordan Spieth may also face a similar fate as he enters rest and hopes to focus on rehabilitation till the 2025 season. But at the same time, his fans would also be hoping that the PGA Tour Pro makes a successful comeback while toppling the figures he dished out during the 2024 season.
Jordan Spieth and a forgettable 2024 PGA Tour season
Spieth entered 2024 while being ranked at No. 15 on the OWGR. Unfortunately, he could only rake in a total of three top-10 finishes on the Jay Monahan-led circuit, the best of which came from a T3 at the 2024 Sentry. Moreover, a disqualification and a total of 7 missed cuts from the 22 starts he made this year further pushed him down the standings to a current position of No. 44, as of September 1.
Regardless of the poor 2024 run, Jordan Spieth would surely be hoping to make a successful recovery all the while trying not to emulate Woods’ current playing situation in the process. However, only time will be able to tell whether the 31-year-old PGA Tour Pro can make a comeback onto the top rungs of the OWGR.
