‘Highlights PGAT’s Failure’: Greg Norman’s 3-Year LIV Anniversary Wins Fans Over Amid Global Success
A swift three years have passed since Greg Norman introduced LIV Golf to the golf world and caused disruption. To say it has been easy would be wrong. In all these years, there were a few bad news, like the decline in the TV rating of LIV, getting called out by pros and fans but today’s about what the Norman-led circuit has achieved since its inception. The breakaway circuit was all about innovation and taking golf to a global stage, which they have successfully done. Golf but louder, indeed!
The Flushing It Golf reported on X that the White Shark recently celebrated his third anniversary of being the LIV Golf CEO. The post highlighted the impact LIV made in the golf world. From the start, the Saudi-funded league wanted to reach a global fanbase which they did. In 2024, they have had eight LIV Golf events in all different countries. Additionally, after investing $300 million in the Asian Tour, a feeder tour for LIV, even The International Series of the Asian Tour traveled to nine countries like Oman, Macau, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, England, Thailand, Hong Kong, Qatar, and Indonesia.
If LIV Golf’s Promotion Event takes place in UAE, LIV Golf will have hosted 25 events in 15 different countries in six different continents in 2024. Moreover, because of the influx of money given to the Asian Tour, the prize purse has increased, rewarding the golfers better. Even the CEO of the Asian Tour, Cho Minn Thant, thanked the partnership between the Norman-led circuit and the league, saying, “There is no doubt that our partnership with LIV Golf has made us stronger. Thank you for that partnership. It has undeniably taken us to the next level.”
Greg Norman celebrated his 3rd anniversary yesterday as CEO of LIV Golf. In that short time frame, the impact that has been made on professional golf should not be underestimated.

In the end, it seems that LIV Golf has impacted golf not just in the USA but worldwide. And for this incredible feat, the fans were delighted for what more was waiting for the Sauid-backed league in the upcoming future.
Netizens congratulate Greg Norman on his three-year feat
Since 2022, LIV Golf has been put up against the PGA Tour time and again. While the PGA Tour precedes in fan following, from a global perspective, LIV Golf seems to race ahead. With growing competition, the PGA Tour has also changed many of its aspects, including the introduction of huge purses in signature events. Thus, this fan found that Greg Norman and his league had all the reason and more to celebrate their third anniversary. They said, “Greg has every reason to be pleased with how much progress LIV has made in a little over 2 years of competition, and not just on the league.” As stated, the Asian Tour and providing competition to the PGA Tour, has led to an improved golf scene throughout.
At the end of the 2023 season, Andy Ogletree joined the breakaway circuit and became a part of Phil Mickelson‘s team, the HyFlyers GC. He was given this opportunity after leading the Asian Tour’s International Series, but only one golfer could enter the breakaway circuit from the Asian Tour at the season’s end. Hence, this fan appreciated the opportunity presented to the golfer but expected more. They commented, “Well said! I’d still like to see at least 3 spots offered to Asia Tour OOM leaders, but it’s a great start!” Another LIV Golf enthusiast rejoiced with the news and hoped for many other accomplishments that Greg Norman may achieve in the future. They exclaimed, “Congrats to you on 3 years as well! Here’s to many more!”
When LIV Golf visited Adelaide for the second time in two years, more than 94,000 fans attended the event at The Grange, where 40% came from outside the states and from 30 different countries. Not only that, but the audience on the course was younger, with kids and women involved. It showed that the Australian golf fanbase was larger than expected, even though the PGA Tour rarely made trips to that side of the ocean. Thus, this fan thanked the breakaway circuit and said, “Very well said. This is the appeal Liv has in this part of the world—Australasia. A region most neglected by the old US-centric tour. Small wonder, it’s the very first to denigrade the new landscape; LIV’s success just highlights PGAT’s failure. Congrats Liv! More power!”
While many celebrated Greg Norman’s relatively successful tenure as the leader of LIV Golf, not everyone was happy. Although this fan accepted that the breakaway circuit went more global than the PGA Tour, they attributed that achievement to the PIF’s $925 billion purse, which was always available. They questioned the celebrated, saying, “With the billions at his disposal how could he possibly fail???”
