Canada’s Brooke Henderson climbs Olympic leaderboard with strong round

Brooke Henderson may not be out of medal contention just yet. The Canadian golf star likely gave herself a slim chance at her first Olympic medal by shooting a bogey-free, 5-under 67 in the third round on Friday at Le Golf National.

At the conclusion of her round, Henderson had jumped up 13 spots on the leaderboard. She is 2 under for the tournament and was five strokes out of a bronze-medal position with the leaders on the back nine.

A 13-time winner on the LPGA Tour, the native of Smiths Falls, Ont., is playing in her third Olympics. Henderson tied for 29th in Tokyo three years ago and tied for seventh in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
