Paige Spiranac Reveals Her ‘Panic Spiral’ as Fans Support Golf Queen’s Overreaction to the ‘Wonderfully Horrible’ Game

Paige Spiranac is currently one of the most decorated golf content creators. The internet sensation retired from being a professional golfer back in 2016 and turned her online platforms into her workspace. From sharing golf knowledge to promoting body positivity, she does it all. Despite having 4M followers on Instagram and 1M followers on her X account, she never shies away from being vocal about her mental health. Spiranac recently shared one such woe, recounting her worst time on the golf course due to a panic attack.

Although Paige Spiranac does not play golf professionally, she is often seen swinging the clubs in charity matches or while creating content for her online platforms. Dealing with PTSD during her short-lived career, she sometimes still struggles with episodes. She recently shared her experience dealing with one such episode. Spiranac stated how she often contemplates quitting golf every time she has a bad shot, and as she tries to hit another one, she feels as if she has forgotten how to hold the club. But just one good shot and she is once again back on track.

“Had one of those days hitting golf balls where I hit one bad shot and then was sent into a panic spiral and then couldn’t remember how to even hold the club and then wanted to quit and then hit one good shot and then realized everything is fine and I *may* have overreacted,” she wrote on her official X account.

As usual, when she opened up about her problems, she was strongly backed up by her huge group of followers!

Golf Community calls Paige Spiranac one of them
The game of golf is not always easy, especially because of the ever-changing venues and conditions. Just like when players enter the Augusta National, they know they have to put in that extra effort, whether it’s the greatest player of all time, Tiger Woods, or World’s No. 1 Scottie Scheffler. Comparatively, some other courses might seem easier.

Thus, it becomes very easy to lose confidence and give up hope. Trying to cheer her up for getting back to the game despite all the failures, people left comments like, “Pretty impressive bc when I do that it takes me a couple rounds to shake it” and “Sounds like a normal day on the course to me.” A few months ago, Paige Spiranac also shared her worst outing on the golf course on her YouTube channel. She not only struggled to make the perfect shots but also lost her ball in the grass. She initially could not find it, but when she did, she failed to putt that as well, no matter how hard she tried.

It is stories like these that she shares so candidly and boldly that make her followers resonate with her all the more and help her grow. Taking to this, one of them simply commented, “One of us ”. She kept on struggling and finally decided to go back and start from the initial tee point. She followed her intuition, and finally, three shots later, her ball was in the hole. Responding to this, one of them even wrote, “Those 1 good shots are why most people still play golf ”.

Paige Spiranac is not just one of golf’s top-rated influencers; she has had a huge impact on a lot of women in golf. As a result, she is soon going to be a panelist at The Athletes and Icon: Women Transforming Sports Through Media at Fanatics’ Feat NYC. She is indeed an idol for a lot of women out there. Trying to highlight that, one of them humbly wrote, “I went to top golf and same thing happened, except it was reverse- one good shot and I felt like my inner Paige was coming out”.
