Brooke Henderson Drops $4.3M Bombshell, Surpasses LPGA ‘6th Major’ Prize Amid Olympic Buzz
Brooke Henderson is ready to represent Team Canada at the ultimate grand stage, the 2024 Paris Olympics. The women’s golf rounds are set to take off from 7 to 10 August. The golfer just finished competing in the LPGA’s ‘6th Majors. 6th Major? Yep, despite being a tour the CPKC Women’s Open is considered as 6th major in women’s golf.
Henderson’s recent post on her Instagram featured the golfer showcasing her incredible skills at the greens of Earl Grey Golf Club. However, it was the post’s caption that caught everyone’s attention. According to the caption, the CPKC did more than just organize the tournament. The caption started with the golfer appreciating the tournament and saying, “I love playing in ! @cpkcwomensopen.” And then came the bombshell news that the CPKC raised a whopping $4.3M, yes you read that right!
These funds were raised for research on children with heart problems in Alberta. The caption read, “Thank you @cpkcrail for another great event! Congratulations on raising $4.3 million for children’s heart health research and cardiac care in Alberta”. The tournament raised more money than the prize purse itself! The 2024 CPKC featured a prize purse of $2.6M, out of which winner Lauren Coughlin took home a staggering amount of $390,000. “I am so proud to be a member of the #CPKCFamily! ”. The golfer thanked the golf tour for helping raise the funds for those in need.
More than 73,000 spectators attended the live tournament and the golfer took a moment to thank her fans, who have labeled themselves as Brooks Brigade as without their support these funds would not be raised. “Thank you to everyone who came out to watch, cheer, and support! You are awesome! #BrookeBrigade ”.

Henderson finished the game at T8 with an excellent score of 6 under par and won a decent amount of $57,410. This is not the first time the tournament has raised money for children suffering from cardiac diseases.
The CPKC’s initiative to help those in need
The CPKC Women’s Open is a special golf tournament that does more than just showcase great golfing skills. It also helps people in need. The tournament has raised a lot of money since 2014, it raised over $22 million to help kids with heart issues. This year, $4.3 million will go to two important organizations, the $3.8 million to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation and the other $507,000 to the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation.
The CPKC uses a program called “Birdies for Heart” which means they donate money for every birdie made by Earl Grey Golf Club members before the tournament. An extra $5,000 is donated for every birdie made by LPGA players on the 14th hole at Earl Grey during the tournament. Amazing right? Well, it is.
