Paige Spiranac Forgives Sexist Haters as She Drops 7-Word Admission About Beating Social Media Hurdles
As much as Paige Spiranac has gained fame, she has received criticism from the community tenfold. Time and again, the 31-year-old former golfer has been subjected to sexist condemnation. Everyone argued that she was just a ‘pretty face‘ and did not have any proper golf career. As a reply, she has taken several steps in the past such as becoming a golf influencer and sharing golf knowledge, but this time she has spoken loud and clear.
In an interview with Fox Business, Paige Spiranac revealed how she was extremely sensitive at the beginning of her brand-making journey. The public criticism on top of that was simply not easy. However, the female golfer pushed everything aside and took a stand for herself. She revealed, “I realized I had to step back and do a lot of work on myself to make sure that I was confident in who I was and that I was creating the brand I wanted to create. Over the years, I have realized that it’s OK.” Then she stated her seven-word statement. “People are allowed to have their opinions.”
Accepting the fact that Spiranac would not be able to satisfy or go according to everybody’s opinions at the same time, she chose to believe in herself. Besides building more confidence, the female golfer also chose to believe in the positivity of people, which often goes unnoticed.
She thus confessed, “I honestly think that even sometimes, although it can come off as criticism or hateful, I don’t think a lot of people actually truly mean it in that way. I think, in some way, they’re trying to be helpful. So, even if I get a comment that criticizes me, I try to hear it out because maybe I can learn from it, I can better myself, or I can adjust.”
Being the bigger person, Paige Spiranac did not call out those people who have only put her in a negative light. In fact, the female golfer has never done so in the past either. Instead, she tried to put forward her skills to prove her worth in the golf community. How? Let us look at a few examples from the past.
Paige Spiranac’s way of proving herself
When the golf community was distressing the golf diva for not being a true golfer, she chose to follow the same script. In one of her Instagram reels, Spiranac played dumb as a sarcastic step to prove her knowledge of the sport. She was seen in distress before teeing up and touching the ball by making contact with her driver. Then she was seen celebrating a shot that went “10 whole yards!” According to Marca, she posted the reel with the following caption: “How people think I play lol.”
Aware of how the community often judges Spiranac for her clothing choices, the golfer has tried to defend herself many times, mostly in her podcast titled “A Round With Paige.”When asked about her greater purposes as an influencer, the golfer confessed she was fighting hypocrisy. She also revealed, “I grew up in a household where my parents allowed me to be me. My mom was a professional ballet dancer; she was a model, and my dad married them all.”
With no intention of telling the young girls in her audience to take care of their clothing, Spiranac chooses to be herself. She also said, “My parents have always been very supportive of me.” Paige Spiranac stated that she was never made to feel ashamed of her body. She wishes to impart such open-mindedness to her viewers too. Are you a Paige Spiranac fan? Let us know in the comments below.
