Novak Djokovic labelled ‘a joke’ as Emma Raducanu gets good news

It’s been an eventful Championship for Novak Djokovic, but not always for the right reasons.
From jeering the crowd, to storming out of interviews, Djokovic hasn’t been afraid to torment when put in front of a microphone the last two weeks. But opponent Lorenzo Musetti was more focused on the 24-time Grand Slam winner’s on-court ability when quizzed after the pair’s semi-final.

He said: “Today I was really impressed. Probably was our first meeting on grass, so I never face him on grass. I have to say that. I think his tennis really fit very well on this surface. “Especially how he returns, it’s something like kind of a joke. I have to say today was really a joke at the end how he was returning.”

Emma Raducanu reaps rewards after strong Wimbledon showing
Emma Raducanu has rocketed up the WTA rankings following her strong Wimbledon showing. The Brit won three matches at the Championships, before eventually falling to Lulu Sun in the fourth round.

As a result, Raducanu has jumped up 41 places, back into the top 100, having endured a lengthy 15-month absence. Raducanu – who recently reached the semi-final of the Nottingham Open and the quarter-final at Eastbourne International – will now enter the upcoming hardcourt swing in the States placed 94th in the world. The pair have endured contrasting routes to the final, but following last year’s defeat on Centre Court, Djokovic has his eyes set on revenge.
