Justin Thomas Melts Hearts at PGA Tour Amid Finally Finding a Much Needed Career Footing

Beyond the scorecards, the first day of the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open. just got even sweeter for Justin Thomas, thanks to his tiny supporter on the greens. In a video snippet shared by the PGA Tour on its official X handle (previously called Twitter), the fifteen-time PGA Tour winner can be seen having a wholesome moment with his young fan. The caption of the tweet further provided more insight into the cute interaction: “11-year-old Elise came to watch @JustinThomas34 play near her hometown for the second year in a row.”

Thomas handed the little golf enthusiast his golf ball as a souvenir that will surely remind her of that moment for the rest of her life. Elise went on to praise her favorite golfer: “I think he’s a really good golfer.” She went on to express her liking for him by saying, “I just want to be a really good fan beacause I really like him.”

Later that day, the two-time major winner got to meet with Elise properly and he expressed his appreciation to the little fan for cheering him on. He even introduced himself, which showed his humble nature. On being asked if she’s coming for the whole tournament, her dad replied, “We’re following you tomorrow.” The Kentucky pro gave a really sweet response to the little girl: “Perfect. Bring me some good luck.”

Why ‘sweeter’ and not ‘sweet’? Because the winner had a scintillating start on the Scottish Highlands, ending the opening round at the top of the leaderboard with an 8 under 62. It was a great day for the PGA Tour pro and for his fans, like Elise, who came to support the 30-year-old. The Thursday round must have rejuvenated the two-time major champion, especially after his “not-so-good” performances on the greens this season.

The recent performance woes of Justin Thomas
It’s no secret that Justin Thomas has been struggling this season. However, at the Traveler’s Championship, the Kentucky Pro found his form, finishing T5 at the event with a total score of 18 under 262. The performance was a stark contrast to his U.S. Open outing, where he failed to make the cut and was unable to showcase his magic on the greens.

Delving into his performance in the Memorial tournament, which was his first tournament of June 2024, although he didn’t miss the cut, he finished outside of the top 30 at T33. Excluding the 2024 US Open, Thomas has missed cuts in three more events this year, which also included the 2024 Masters. After having a great start in the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open and melting his fans’ hearts with a wholesome moment, do you think Thomas will be able to make his fans even happier with his first victory of the year in Scotland?
