Thanks to the multiple successes of his multimillionaire employer, Scottie Scheffler, Ted Scott, his caddy, is one of the highest paid current players on the 2024 PGA Tour. Incredible but true… Since the start of the year, Scottie Scheffler has played in fifteen tournaments and won six of them.
Four Signature Events, the Players Championship and the Masters. Tournaments with a minimum prize pool of $20 million. His earnings so far amount to just under $28 million. 27,696,858 exactly. Amounts which allow his caddy, Ted Scott, to also ensure a senator’s lifestyle as Golfweek points out.
Scottie Scheffler’s caddy, results
The one who carries the bag of the undisputed world No. 1 has thus won more than a million dollars more than the PGA Tour average for the moment: $1,555,579. He thus amassed a little more than 2.5 million dollars if we take into account the percentages usually paid by a player to his caddy.
10% of the winnings in case of victory, 7% for a top 10 and 5% if we make the cut. Ted Scott would therefore have earned $2,633,839 in just over six months. If he were to be ranked in the PGA Tour Money List this season, he would occupy… 46th place.
A completely crazy statistic. For comparison, he would be positioned ahead of Jordan Spieth (2.5 million dollars), Davis Riley (2.04 million), yet winner of the Charles Schwab Challenge ahead of… Scottie Scheffler, Adam Scott (1.67 million) or even Rickie Fowler (1.09 million).
In summary, Ted Scott, thanks to the multiple successes of his employer – but also to his seven other top 10 finishes – has earned more money than more than 80% of the players who took part in the 2024 season on the PGA Tour.
