Martina Navratilova shares a kiss with an Australian broadcaster…but she says they’re just friends
With their arms wrapped around each other in a friendly embrace, Martina Navratilova and Australian broadcaster Mieke Buchan certainly seem pretty affectionate. But despite the obvious closeness of the pair, who shared the kiss after dinner in Sydney together this weekend, the tennis ace does not have a new love in her life.
‘If I was to have a glamorous lesbian affair, Martina would be a stellar choice,’ Buchan told The Daily Telegraph in Sydney. ‘But that’s just not the case.’
Internet reports were buzzing with speculation after the broadcaster was spotted with the star, who appeared to be without girlfriend Russian model Julia Lemigova.
But Mieke, who works for Radio Station Triple M, was vociferous in her denial about a relationship with the 54-year-old star, who earlier today showed off her bikini body at Bondi Beach in Sydney.
‘In this case, I’ve been falsely “outed” for kissing a female friend, who just happens to be gay, goodbye,’ said Mike.
Martina wore a turquoise bikini, a white baseball cap and brown flip flops as she strolled along the beach with a young female friend.
The star looked happy and relaxed less than a year after declaring last October she was cancer free after a lumpectomy in March.
She also suffered another health scare back in December after developing high altitude pulmonary edema while attempting a climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Kenya
