7 teams to watch at the Dow Championship 2024 ft. Lexi Thompson and Brooke Henderson
After the successful completion of the 2024 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, the LPGA Tour moves to Michigan for the Dow Championship 2024. The event is scheduled to take place from June 27 to 30 at Midland Country Club.
The tournament will feature 72 teams consisting of two players each to win $732,165 ($366,082 each) in prize money from the purse of $3 million. Last year’s champions, Elizabeth Szokol and Cheyenne Knight will be back to reclaim their titles. They won the 2023 Dow Championship by one stroke over Kelly Tan and Matilda Castren.
“Elizabethan Knights” will face tough competition from several other teams. The field has 7 of the top 10 players in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, including last week’s KPMG Women’s PGA Championship champion Amy Yang.

#1. Lexi Thompson and Brooke Henderson
Lexi Thompson is currently ranked 33rd while Brooke Henderson is ranked 14th. The duo had paired last year too but failed to make the cut. Both of them won their last title in 2023 and would look to add a title for this year. Henderson has won 13 LPGA titles while Thompson has won 11 LPGA titles and the duo will be a force to be reckoned with at Dow Championship.
It has been a mixed season for Lexi Thompson, who has had four top-16 finishes but has also missed cuts at five tournaments. Henderson has had five top-finishes and has performed consistently so far in 2024.
#2. Charley Hull and Georgia Hall
Charley Hull is ranked 8th and Georgia Hall is ranked 36th in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. The duo have been best friends since childhood. They have represented England in the Solheim Cup as well. Both have combined 3 LPGA titles.
Charley Hull has had five top-20 finishes while Georgia Hall has had three top-25 finishes so far in 2024.
#3. Jin Young Ko (3) and Nasa Hataoka (24)
Jin Young Ko is the highest-ranked player in the field i,e., third while Nasa Hataoka is ranked 24th. Ko finished as runner-up at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship while Hataoka failed to make the cut at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The pair has a combined 19 LPGA Tour titles.
Ko has had three top-10 and six top-20 finishes while Hataoka has had six top-15 finishes so far in 2024.
#4 Ruoning Yin (4) and Atthaya Thitikul (12)
World No. 4 Ruoning Yin has had a great year with eight top-25 finishes in the 2024 season. Atthaya Thitikul has had four top-10 from her last five starts. Her best finish of the current season came at the ShopRite LPGA Classic. Both Yin and Thitikul are in form and will look for their first title in 2024. Yin is currently ranked 4th in the world while Thitikul is 12th.
#5 Celine Boutier (6) and Yuka Saso (10)
World No. 10 Yuka Saso won the US Women’s Open 2024 a few weeks ago and is pairing with sixth-ranked Celine Boutier. Boutier finished as a runner-up at the HSBC Women’s World Championship in her best performance of the season. Saso has had five top-25 finishes while Boutier has had six top-25 finishes this year.
Boutier and Saso are the only pair competing in the Dow Championship where both the players are ranked in the Top 10.
#6 Xiyu Lin and Ayaka Furue
Ayaka Furue has produced some incredible performances so. The Japanese player has had eight top-10 finishes this season but has failed to win a tournament. Xiyu Lin, herself has had five top-15 finishes this year.
Both the players are in exceptional form and expectations on them will be high at the 2024 Dow Championship. Lin is ranked 15th while Furue is ranked 20th.
#7 Amy Yang and Jennifer Song
Amy Yang comes to the 2024 Dow Championship after winning the third LPGA Major, 2024 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. The 5th-ranked player is paired with Jennifer Song who is ranked 540th.
