Lisa Marie Presley’s Ex-Husband Faces Delay After Requesting Large Sum of $153,647.32 from the trust

Michael Lockwood, Lisa Marie Presley’s Ex-Husband, Filed A Request For A Six-Figure Sum From Her Trust Fund
Lisa Marie Presley’s ex-husband, Michael Lockwood, is in the midst of a legal fight for a sum he requested from the late singer’s trust fund.

Lisa Marie and Michael married in 2006. They welcomed their twin daughters, Harper and Finley, in 2008. Lisa Marie filed for divorce in 2016, and their divorce was finalized in 2021.

Following Lisa Marie’s death in January 2023, her eldest daughter, Riley Keough (who Lisa Marie shared with her first husband, Danny Keough), became the sole heir of her estate/trust. Riley is also the sole heir of Elvis’ Graceland property and oversees Harper and Finley’s subtrusts.

This appointment came after some legal back-and-forth between Riley and her grandmother, Priscilla Presley. Despite rumors of a deeper feud between grandmother and granddaughter, both have maintained that they are on good terms.

Michael served as the Guardian Ad Litem for Harper and Finley during Riley and Priscilla’s legal battle. In March 2024, he filed a petition on his daughters’ behalf requesting that Riley pay legal fees accrued since Lisa Marie died. He requested a sum of $153,647.32 from the trust.

Michael Lockwood’s Request For Payment Faces A Setback
According to the petition, Michael claims to have helped Riley and Priscilla during their legal dispute:

“…from the outset, Michael and his counsel played a central role in helping keep the parties focused on resolving those issues with minimal court intervention,” said his attorney. “Importantly, Michael was able to achieve his goal of ensuring the court issues were all resolved effectively and cost-efficiently so Finley and Harper would have the financial resources their mother intended.“

The petition continues to say:

“Through the significant efforts and contributions of the parties, including Mr. Lockwood and his counsel, all disputes surrounding Lisa Marie’s estate were amicably and efficiently resolved, and that settlement was approved by this Court on August 4, 2023.“

It further reads:

“…while further issues relating to the Promenade Trust endure that necessitate Mr. Lockwood’s continued service as Guardian Ad Litem, in light of the termination of the litigation over control of the Promenade Trust and Lisa Marie’s estate.”

New court documents obtained by In Touch indicate that Lisa Marie’s ex-husband has faced a setback with his request. According to the documents, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled that “additional evidence” is needed to grant Michael’s petition to receive the $153,647.32 payment from the trust.

The judge scheduled a new hearing for August. Stay tuned for any updates after that hearing occurs.
