‘When I’ll Be In My Dying Bed..’- Chris Evert’s Hard-Hitting Admission About Her Ex-husband to Lance Armstrong in an Honest 2016 Interview

Former American tennis star Chris Evert has had an amazing career. However, the 67-year-old could not replicate it in her personal life. The 18-time Grand Slam champion had three failed marriages and the one which was most shocking of them all was with Andy Mill.

After a long marriage and having three children together, the couple parted ways in 2008. Subsequently, Evert married Greg Norman and the marriage fell apart pretty quickly. Later, Evert accepted it was a mistake on her end. Currently, Mill and Evert have a friendly relationship and Evert counts on her ex-husband for tough situations in the future.

After going through a rough phase in their relationship and subsequent divorce, the two moved on and married again. Currently, Evert is single while Mill is living a happily married life. However, there’s no bitterness anymore between Mill and Evert. Even the former world number 1 once claimed that Andy Mill is the first person she will call in case of an emergency. Here’s what she said in a podcast with Lance Armstrong, six years ago.

“When I’ll be in my dying bed, he’ll be there and I’ll be there for him. And if I didn’t feel well if I was having an anxiety attack or if I felt like I was having a heart attack, I mean, he would be the first one I would call. Andy, get over here right now.”

Evert further added, “We love each other and I can rely on him, but over 15-18-20 year’s you grow apart. One may evolve a little bit quicker than the other. For whatever reasons, you gotta be on top of your relationship the whole time, and I’ve learned that.”

Evert was recently diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. Andy Mill stood by her side throughout her treatment and accompanied her to the chemotherapy sessions as well.
