Lisa Marie Presley’s ex-husband gains custody of twins, fueling family drama and leaving Riley Keough ‘furious’
Riley Keough says Lockwood is an 'outsider'
Lisa Marie Presley’s family drama continues to make headlines. The latest development in the ongoing saga involves her ex-husband, Michael Lockwood, being granted full custody of their twin daughters, Harper and Finley, according to reports.
The news has reportedly left Lisa Marie’s daughter, Riley Keough, “furious” and concerned that she’s “losing” her half-sisters to an “outsider”. Riley’s relationship with her grandmother, Priscilla Presley, also seems to have worsened as a result of the custody battle.
Priscilla reportedly did not raise any objections to Michael getting full custody of the 14-year-olds.
The court hearing, which took place at Los Angeles family court, ended the seven-year child custody battle between Lisa Marie and Michael. According to Judicial assistant Gus Morales, Michael now has “de facto” full custody of his daughters, as per California law, which grants custody to the remaining parent unless found unfit by the court.
There’s still the feud between Riley and her grandma Priscilla
The family feud doesn’t end there. Prior to the custody battle, Priscilla and Riley were already engaged in a legal dispute over Lisa Marie’s trust. An amendment to the trust in 2016 removed Priscilla as trustee and replaced her with Riley, along with Lisa Marie’s former business manager, Barry Siegel.
However, Priscilla has filed a petition questioning the “authenticity and validity” of the trust, claiming that Lisa Marie’s signature is “inconsistent” and that she was not aware of the changes until after her daughter passed away.
The outcome of Priscilla’s petition could potentially see her and Riley appointed as co-trustees over Lisa Marie’s estate, further complicating the already contentious family dynamics. Michael’s reported siding with Priscilla over Lisa Marie’s trust could also cause him to go against Riley in court.
Michael has filed to represent Harper and Finley in an upcoming court hearing involving Lisa Marie’s multi-million dollar trust. He’s seeking to be appointed as “guardian ad litem”, which would give him the authority to speak on behalf of his daughters.
As for Lisa Marie’s estate, her will contains the rights to the Graceland mansion and a 15 percent stake in Elvis Presley Enterprises. She also had two life insurance policies, one for $25 million and another for $10 million.
