Emma Raducanu’s staggering wealth confirmed in latest financial report

The money is continuing to roll in for Emma Raducanu, with her latest company accounts filing revealing assets of £10million.Raducanu has won a little over $4million during her relatively brief tennis career, with the $2.5million she won from her incredible win at the 2021 US Open making up a large bulk of that total. Accoring to widespread reports, her company Harbour 6 Ltd, where she is the sole director, recorded a staggering profit of £9.6m in accounts registered at Companies House.

The accounts show the business has £10.2 million in assets including £6.3 million in cash and is due to pay bills of £2.2million, including corporation tax of £1.8 million. Yet that breakthrough moment sparked a huge surge of interest from sponsors, as she signed deals with Nike, British Airways, Christian Dior, Evian, HSBC, Porsche, Vodafone and Tiffany. It is unclear how long those deals have left to run, but it is clear that the income from sources away from the court is continuing to role in for the 21-year-old Brit.

Raducanu had a miserable 2023, as injury ruined her season and she collected just $238,000 in prize money on court. That total was a fraction of her total earnings, with the sponsors still keen to be attached to one of the game’s most recognisable stars. Many critics have questioned whether Raducanu’s passion for tennis has waned due to the vast wealth that has come her way, but her efforts to get back on court in 2024 have banished that theory.

She showed some fine form to collect two wins in the Billie Jean King Cup earlier this month and backed that up with a run to the quarter-finals of the high-quality Stuttgart Open. Her run of momentum was halted with a worryingly flat performance at the Madrid Open, as she was comprehensively beaten by Argentinian qualifier Maria Lourdes Carle in the first round.

The Briton was crushed 6-2 6-2 in one hour and 26 minutes by an opponent ranked 82 in the world, who had claimed her highest-profile win and maiden WTA 1000 victory. Playing with strapping around the front of her left knee, Raducanu made a host of unforced errors and saw her serve broken six times. It was a disappointing performance from the 2021 US Open champion in light of the recent resurgence seen at the Billie Jean King Cup and Stuttgart Open.

The 21-year-old’s progress in last week’s tournament in Germany was only halted in the quarter-finals by world number one Iga Swiatek, but that form deserted her against Carle.
Raducanu said she was ‘tired’ coming into the Madrid Open and she blamed the fatigue for her early exit on the clay. “I would say the last few weeks have been a lot,” she said.

“I think from the performance today it was very clear that mentally and emotionally I was exhausted. “I was trying to push through and I was just unable to push through today. I guess the sport is just pretty brutal.” With Raducanu currently sitting outside of the top 200 in the WTA Rankings, sponsors may want to see Raducanu competing at the back end of the game’s biggest tournaments to continue to give her the level of backing she has been used to since late 2021.

Yet with a huge social media audience and her status as a hero for young girls who embraced her wonderful US Open win, Raducanu remains a unique star in the women’s game and that explains why sponsors will want to work with her even if she is not winning titles on the court.
