Scottie Scheffler’s World Triumph Might Leave Rickie Fowler in the Shadow as Bewildering Reports Emerge
Just how good is Scottie Scheffler playing? The stats of his consecutive under-par rounds have turned heads before. The former Texas Longhorn has also taken the lowest rounds to reach $50 million in career earnings. Another stat reveals Scheffler might just surpass Rickie Fowler’s victories at the PGA Tour in just these months. All the world No. 1 needs is another piece of silverware at the RBC Heritage. But it’s not just Fowler; Viktor Hovland has to bite the dust with another Scottie Scheffler victory.
How Scheffler can overtake Fowler
Kyle Porter of CBS tweeted that if Scheffler wins the RBC Heritage, the World No. 1 will have won more titles in the past two months than Rickie Fowler has earned in his career. Fowler has six PGA Tour victories, the last of which came at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic. Hovland, too, has six PGA Tour wins, but he joined the Tour in 2020, the same as Scheffler. This will be Fowler’s 14th year in the elite circuit.
If Scheffler wins this weekend, that’s a two-month stretch that is more or less equivalent to Rickie Fowler’s *career* in terms of wins (depending on how many regular wins you deem a Masters to be worth).

Scheffler is on a roll, knocking off three victories this season. With a triumph at Hilton Head, he would go on to win four titles. But if one considers a Masters victory equivalent to two PGA Tour victories, that amounts to six for Scheffler by Sunday. The nine-time PGA Tour winner shot 6-under 65 in a flawless bogey-free second round dotted with six birdies.
Whereas, Fowler is currently at T50 in RBC Heritage. The six-time PGA Tour winner has had a turbulent run of form this year. Fowler has played the final two rounds in seven of his ten appearances so far. His best show has been at the Masters, netting a T30 after winning the par 3 championship. Even if not at Harbour Town Golf Links, Scottie Scheffler looks to overtake Fowler at some point this year. A victory here will also further solidify his hold over the World No. 1 spot that he has held for 47 weeks. He has already earned more money than any of his peers this season.
Scottie Scheffler has earned double the money of the next-best
The World No. 1 currently sits on $15 million from this season alone. The comparison is not even close. The 27-year-old has pocketed around $12 million in the last month alone. The Arnold Palmer Invitational victory earned him $4 million, THE PLAYERS $4.5 million, and the Masters $3.4 million. In addition, Scottie Scheffler nabbed a further $553,735 for his T2 at the Texas Children’s Houston Open.
Wyndham Clark, the next best, has earned half of Scheffler’s $7,951,009; Hideki Matsuyama’s $6,0007,495, and Ludvig Aberg $5,990,053. In fact, per some estimation, Scheffler’s caddie, Ted Scott, has pocketed around the same amount as Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, and Jordan Spieth this season. Caddies generally make 10% of the winner’s payout. So, in the last 45 days, Scott has earned around $1.3 million. McIlroy, thanks to a torrid start, earned only $1,608,505.
