Riley Keough and Lily Gladstone try to solve a murder in the chilling new teaser for upcoming Hulu series Under The Bridge
Riley Keough and Lily Gladstone attempt to solve a murder in the chilling, new trailer for Hulu’s upcoming drama, Under The Bridge – which is based on true events. The Daisy Jones & The Six actress, 34 – who recently was cast in a Netflix project with Laura Dern and Adam Sandler – took on a leading role alongside the Killers Of The Flower Moon star, 37, in the eight-episode series.
The show is based on the novel of the same name written by the late Rebecca Godfrey – with Keough playing the author and Gladstone taking on the role of a police officer named Cam Bentland.
The teaser kicked off with a police vehicle arriving to a crime scene at night, and Lily could be seen sitting inside.
A voiceover then said, ‘There’s danger everywhere…but danger had never looked quite like this before.’
The clip then cut to different high school students looking directly into the camera as eerie music played in the background. Gladstone’s character, Cam, explained, ‘This girl Reena Virk, she’s been missing for three days.’ Another student was then spotted saying, ‘At night, I saw something,’ with the trailer briefly cutting to a scene where students were gathered for a party.
‘What happened under the bridge?’ Cam asked while at the scene. Another student who had possible knowledge of the events asked, ‘Can you keep a secret?’
Lily’s character could be seen having a conversation where she questions Rebecca and her reasoning for being in the town during the investigation.
‘You don’t step foot in Victoria in 10 years and just show up in the middle of my homicide investigation,’ she pointed out.
However, Riley explained, ‘I’m writing a book. People will tell me things they’re not going to tell you.’
The video jumped to a teenager opening up with Keough and revealed, ‘Girls are always missing. Bic girls is what the cops call us, like the lighters.’
Rebecca asked, ‘Why do they call you that,’ with another student answering with, ‘Because we’re disposable.’
Another character is introduced – a woman named Suman Virk played by Archie Panjabi – and she said, ‘There’s a darkness in those girls.’
The teaser quickly cut to a few students standing on a staircase while posing for photos together before heading to a school dance.
A man then added, ‘I think the devil is working inside them.’
A montage then begins of various snippets from the series, including moments that possibly led up to the murder, to both Riley and Lily desperately looking for answers to solve the case.
Keough could be heard saying in another voiceover, ‘This is a tale of horror and wonder, of innocence and beauty, violence and sin.’
‘This story would haunt the island for years to come. It forever changed a fact that young girls were the ones we were supposed to protect, not be protected from.’
The teaser concluded with Rebecca confronting a few students and demanded, ‘I want you to take me under the bridge.’ One of the teens appeared indifferent as she chewed bubblegum.
