Priscilla Presley supported her granddaughter Riley Keough at the Emmys months after their legal dispute over Lisa Marie’s estate
Months after their legal dispute about the future of the late Lisa Marie Presley’s estate, Riley Keough and Priscilla Presley walked the red carpet together at the 2024 Emmy Awards on Monday. The two posed for photos with their arms around one another. Keough, who was up for outstanding actress in a limited series or a movie for her role in “Daisy Jones & the Six,” wore a sleeveless black gown with a sheer skirt, while Presley wore a long-sleeved black blouse and a black skirt. This year’s nomination was the first for Keough, who lost it to “Beef” star Ali Wong.
Presley was famously married to legendary singer Elvis from 1967 to 1973. They had one daughter together, Lisa Marie, who died in 2023. Keough is Lisa Marie’s daughter. Keough and Presley’s public outing comes after the two were involved in a headline-making legal battle over the future of Graceland, following the death of Lisa Marie in 2023.
As Business Insider’s Eve Crosbie reported, Lisa Marie inherited her father’s whole estate on her 25th birthday in 1993.
But after her death, it was revealed that she’d made an amendment to her will in 2016, removing her mother and her former business manager, Barry Siegel, as co-trustees. Lisa Marie named her oldest children Benjamin, who died by suicide in 2020 at the age of 27, and Keough as the new co-trustees.
Presley subsequently disputed the amendment and questioned its legitimacy, citing Lisa Marie’s misspelling of her mother’s name and her signature of the document, which Presley’s team said was “inconsistent with her usual and customary” style.
In May, however, the two sides reached a settlement, according to The Los Angeles Times.
The settlement, which was approved in October, stipulates that Presley will receive a lump-sum payment of $1 million from Lisa Marie’s life insurance, as well as a yearly payment of $100,000, and that Presley will be buried next to Elvis at Graceland, according to People.
Since the settlement was reached in May, both Keough and Presley have emphasized in interviews that they’re not on bad terms, and were merely trying to settle the estate after Lisa Marie’s death. This show of solidarity on the Emmys red carpet backs that up.
