In this picture of him from the clay court in which he was seen sitting and taping his racket, his sister, Maribel Nadal, commented fuelling the anticipation further whether he would play Barcelona or not. She shared some smiling faces with heart-eye emojis, followed by the flexed biceps one, encouraging his brother to do well.

While clay season, especially the French Open, is the 22-time Grand Slam Champion’s main domain among all the different courts and all, it will be interesting to see whether his body allows him to take the lead with tennis this time.

Amid all this debate and discussion, Andy Roddick recently expressed his desire to see the Spaniard take the huge step to retire after a particular tournament, looking at the way things are going for him.

“you want that goodbye at Roland Garros” – Andy Roddick on when Nadal should hang up his racket
In a recent episode of his podcast, the former American tennis player opened up about how it would be unfortunate for the Spaniard if his injuries didn’t allow him to make it to the French Open. He stated, “Obviously, you want that goodbye at Roland Garros; it would suck if he [Rafael Nadal] can’t get that. I got to think, like, if he’s practicing but not serving well, I still got to think he’s going to throw that out there in Roland Garros.”

In addition, the 41-year-old former player suggested that the 14-time French Open winner should think about calling it quits following the Clay Court Grand Slam competition. Consequently, he also acknowledged that, rather than being a deliberate concept, this decision may have been made in response to his current upsetting circumstances.
