Lisa Marie Presley’s ex-husband could’ve overplayed his hand and asked for $40K in child support

Lisa Marie Presley’s fourth husband Michael Lockwood has been in the media recently after he has full custody of the children she shared with the late socialite. Lockwood commented that he was very sad about her ex-wife’s passing and that the twins are now with him. Lockwood and Presley had a very rocky relationship mainly because of conflicts of personality and substance abuse, according to the Daily Mail.

Michael had been hoping for a speedy and complete recovery because her children needed her, as he mentioned to Entertainment Tonight.

Lisa Marie and Lockwood married back in 2006 and they extended their family and had twin daughters in 2008 and were together until 2016 and that is where things got messy.

Lockwood asked for $40,000 in child support
Lockwood asked for $40,000 a month in child support and then claimed that her fortune was greater than what she mentioned in her documents.

Lockwood accused her of substance abuse to which she admitted to consuming cocaine, opioids, painkillers, and alcohol.

According to Emma James from the Daily Mail, “She said she was a ‘mess’ and couldn’t stop’, with court documents revealing in the last year of her marriage to Lockwood she was ‘abusing cocaine terribly'”

However, Presley admitted that things got worse when she combined her addictions, ‘I didn’t mix the pills and alcohol until, like, the last two years.’

She says that her therapist called her a ‘miracle’ before adding: ‘I don’t know how you’re still alive.’

The couple is understood to split the custody of their children 50/50, with Lockwood taking care of them with his new wife, and Lisa Marie paying $4,600 in child support to the guitarist a month.

After her addictions were in center stage, the Tennessee court concluded ‘Barring any new potential evidence or information, we have concluded our involvement in this matter. We have not been able to determine a crime occurred in Tennessee and accordingly do not have an open investigation.’
