Being Elvis Presley’s daughter sure has some perks, and many of them are monetary. When Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Lockwood were married, he became accustomed to a certain type of lifestyle, and now, he wants that back. Lockwood has found an interesting angle to play, to make him a very wealthy stay-at-home dad… part-time. He is now coming at Lisa Marie Presley full-force in court, claiming he’s entitled to a blend of child support and spousal support payments that will see him regain the life he has become accustomed to living.
Since the children will sometimes be in his car, he believes this payout to be a reasonable request, and he’s dishing the dirt on just how much money Lisa Marie Presley is getting each month, stating that he, too, deserves a piece of it.
Lisa Marie Presley’s Fortune Is At Stake
Hollywood divorces can certainly become very bitter, and it seems Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Lockwood are traveling down this path.
The two split roughly 5 years ago and have just finalized their divorce in May 2021, but now, Lockwood is saying he’s going to need a lot more money before he quiets down and leaves Lisa Marie Presley alone.
The daughter of the most famous musician to have ever lived is now facing the stark realization that her fortune is officially at stake.
Lockwood has come forward to reveal that neither he nor Lisa Marie was earning her own money when they were married and that their lifestyle was maintained by trust funds and monthly payouts from Elvis Presley’s estate.
He doesn’t see why that would stop now, after all – he’s watching their kids sometimes, too.
It’s All About The Money
This battle is absolutely all about the money, and it doesn’t seem that Lockwood is going to rest until he receives a huge chunk of it.
Paperwork filed by Lockwood’s attorney state that he is seeking restitution that follows along the stream of money that Lisa Marie Presley receives each month. The press reported on his request by indicating how he made his calculations. They state that if the amount of money Lisa Marie Presley receives totals $20 million each year, he wants to sink his claws into over $61,000 a month.
Lockwood claims that he has financial responsibilities to his children and that their lifestyle should be maintained, thus making him eligible for this massive, ongoing payout.
It is assumed that the two had entered into a prenup prior to getting married, but nothing has been reported to suggest it’s iron clad or that he can’t challenge it in court.
For now, Lisa Marie Presley is forced to respond to his demands on some level, as the world looks on in wonder of how bitter their relationship has become.
