‘A Mess’: After Her Divorce With Greg Norman, Chris Evert Revealed How She Reviewed Her Relationship With Her Ex-Husband
After her 18 years of marriage ended with Andy Mill, the tennis legend, Christ Evert, took no time before choosing the former world no. 1 Greg Norman as her next partner. As two main entities of their respective sports, many were looking forward to seeing another power couple in them. However, their relationship took a 360° turn in little to no time, making it one of the fastest failed-marriages in the sports world.
Evert and Norman tied the knot in a ceremony held in the Bahamas on June 28, 2008. The sports couple wanted to explore the world with each other. However, 15 months after their wedding, the two parted ways.
While Norman concentrated on finding another partner soon after their divorce, the International Tennis Hall of Famer chose that time to reflect on her past mistakes.
Chris Evert felt guilty after her divorce from Greg Norman
The 18-time grand slam champion has married twice before her relationship with current LIV Golf CEO, Greg Norman. She and the British tennis player, John Lloyd tied the knot in 1979, and the couple parted ways almost a decade later.
Her marriage with the former alpine ski racer, Andy Mill, can be considered the most successful one, as the couple was together for 18 years before they got divorced. The couple even had three sons together, Alex, Nicky, and Colton.
Although Norman and Evert were not married for long, the tennis legend learned a lot from it. First and foremost: the couple was not destined to be together. “My priority was my kids,” she explained the reason for her fallout with the Great White Shark. “His priority was to build his business and travel.”
Moreover, she also learned that she hurt her second husband, Olympian Andy Mill. “My conscience and my guilt and my grief kicked in,” she said in an interview after her divorce from Norman. “I was a little bit of a mess then,” she added.
